eVIDA is a research group of the University of Deusto committed to research on and development of ICT-based tools, systems and interventions for psychological, social and physical health. Over the last decade, eVIDA has established close working relationships with key local stakeholders including hospitals, charities, other research groups and ICT companies. In the field of ICTs for Wellbeing, eVIDA researches, designs, develops and tests tools and systems which enable disabled people and the elderly to live more independent lives. eVIDA is involved in creating apps and for person-centred care, and various tele-medicine and tele-monitoring systems. In the field of health, eVIDA is specialized in creating diagnostic tools and systems and interventions for people with health. eVIDA is participating in SUNFRAIL project from the 3rd health Program and CATCH ITN Marie Sklodowska-Curie. eVIDA has been awarded the University of Deusto- Banco Santander Research Award in 2007 and the ONCE Euskadi-Solidarios Research Award in 2007. This team is part of various research networks such as the European Network of Livings Labs (ENoLL) and the “Red de Espacios Sociales de Innovación (ESdI)”.

The future researcher is going to work with the ongoing projects under AAL and other frameworks, and the presentation of new ones, all under the two main objectives of the eVida group. INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION
– ICTs
– Data Science
– Health
– Wellbeing
– Engineering
Interdisciplinarity is key for eVIDA and for the offered position. Two main areas lie in the core of this group: ICTs and health. Apart from these two, the candidate will be working with different methodologies from engineering and social sciences. eVida collaborates with experts from different fields and backgrounds, including doctors, nurses, anthropologists, psychologists and scholars. INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
eVIDA and, consequently, the job offer, have a close relationship with several policies at the regional, national, and overall European and international levels. Amongst the priorities of H2020, the European Approach to Artificial Intelligence and the Big Data and Data Science calls are the two main related areas where the candidate will work. Most of the tasks will be developed under the framework of AAL calls as conceived by the European Commission. These calls entail the creation of international networks and the inclusion of different methodologies. Other projects are framed under the Basque Government’s policies for health, including oncology and initiatives coming from foundations or public institutions. INTERSECTORAL COLLABORATION
The University of Deusto has an extensive network of collaborators that not only extends to the direct connections of the university, but also to those of the international team members and partners that work together with eVIDA in the different calls. Amongst the research group´s main stakeholders there are several hospitals, companies, institutions and foundations. Some examples are Georgetown University (USA), Fundación Sindrome de Down (ES), Mayo Clinic (USA), IMQ (ES), etc. IMPACT
Many of the University of Deusto´s previous projects have evolved and turned into successful businesses, be them in the form of entrepreneurship or products for already established companies. Others have become relevant research projects, uptaken even after the established timeframe and developed into PhD theses or dissemination initiatives. eVIDA is focused on creating a real impact for the society, and as such, the projects are not forgotten once the deadline is over, instead, they become real products or concepts that affect the daily life of many citizens, especially seniors and disabled people. INNOVATION
eVIDA is committed to the creation of international and multidisciplinary teams. For this reason, most of its members come from different countries including France, Morocco, Pakistan, Russia, Brazil, Ireland, Germany, etc. This is an innovative aspect of the offer that follows the line of other prestigious knowledge hubs abroad. The candidate will also use the newest concepts and technologies to improve the already existing processes and achieve innovative results. The development of new techniques and solutions for the wellbeing of elderly and disabled people implies a constant connection with the latest trends. All eVida´s projects are based on bringing unexplored solutions to the academic and economic markets. INCLUSION
The University of Deusto and specially eVIDA have a commitment with inclusion and equality of opportunities. For this reason, the aim of inclusion of all genders and sexual orientations, people with diverse capacities and vulnerable groups in general, will not only be true for the selection process, but also for the working environment; where everyone collaborates to create a welcoming atmosphere for everybody.
